ROLE DESCRIPTION: Sales Consultant

Attributes

  • Location-independent
  • 6-month contract
  • Hourly, 40-60 hours per month
  • Set your own flexible schedule, prioritizing availability for client meetings during standard business hours
  • Reports into the Business Development Director

Overview

Sales and business development for current clients and supporting new client sales

Primary KPIs

  • Renewals and upsells
  • Setting up projects with accurate, profitable resourcing allocations and scope

Job Functions

Renewals & Upsells 

  • Support renewal and upsell activities
  • Work with Apiary consultants to identify new business opportunities
  • Line up the dominos for upselling 
  • Preparing proposals, scopes, and resourcing forecasts
  • Processing sales administration tasks 

Renewal Strategy & Process

  • Work with Apiary consultants to prepare end-of-year executive summary deliverable to share Apiary wins and gain visibility beyond day-to-day client contact
  • Work with CEO & Business Development Director to develop and act on overall cross-client business development strategic roadmap

New Client Sales

Support Business Development Director on new client sales:

  • Shadowing new client sales calls and assisting with follow-ups
  • Preparing proposals, scopes, and resourcing forecasts
  • Processing sales administration tasks 
  • Providing vacation coverage for Business Development Director with oversight from the CEO (Sep 19-Oct 3, 2019)

Requirements

You’re highly driven and passionate about co-creating and maintaining a framework for high-performing professionals to have impactful careers while still pursuing what’s important outside of work. You lead by example, living your own story while growing your career with the Apiary Collective. 

  • 10+ years experience within any area of digital marketing (subject matter expertise within any of the following: SEM, SEO, Paid Social, Programmatic, Analytics)
  • 8+ years client-facing experience
  • 2+ years sales experience
  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • 1+ year remote work experience
  • Extensive background working with Fortune 1000 enterprise clients and managing $10MM+/year paid media budgets
  • Prior exposure to working within a startup or small business
  • Passionate about working with clients and managing teams
  • Experience working with freelancers and contractors
  • A robust Rolodex  
  • Quantitatively savvy 
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Bonus points for experience using Salesforce or TeamWork!
